Brian Clemmer, Fundraising Coach

What gets you excited about coaching?

As a missionary, I've experience the frustration and anxiety over fundraising. However, I have also seen God do miraculous things through regular people. I get excited about fundraising principles based on the Word of God. I get even more excited when missionaries use those principles and transform their message and their ministries for the better.

What's your #1 tip for gaining new funding partners?

Be patient. The first person may say "no." However, as you keep asking with boldness the partners will come. One thing I know: the results will surprise you.

Tell us about a time where you helped someone overcome a significant barrier to successful fundraising.

My wife and I were transitioning from one mission field to another and during our home assignment we lost a significant amount of supporters. We needed to raise an additional $5000 per month and $25,000 for an outfit fund in a time period of 8 months. We turned to Tailored and met with an awesome coach who helped us develop a plan to raise funds. We started implementing the things we were taught and were blown away by the results. We were fully funded in 8 months. In this situation, I helped my family by following the advice of a Tailored coach, and now I have the privilege to be one.

Where can we find you on the weekends?

Going on walks, bike rides, hiking and hanging out with my family

Where you have served as a missionary and as a fundraiser?

We served in Mexico for 4 years with the Christian & Missionary Alliance.
