The Power of a Short Term Fundraising Goal

My name is Susie Bernard and I'm a Tailored coach. A fundraising tip that I've seen helpful over the last few months is the value setting short term fundraising goals.

There’s a client who'd been raising funds for a long time and they plateaued. They were stuck and discouraged. So I asked them, "what's a short term goal that you can set just for the next week or two weeks, that's realistic but it's also faith stretching?" They looked at each other and said let's trust God for two hundred fifty dollars a month. So they decided to connect with their inner circle of prayer partners to ask them to pray with them that God would provide and then they revisited their list. Within two weeks, they saw $250 come in, so they set the goal for the next two weeks to $250. And they saw a church come on board and three more people joined their team to help them reach that short term goal. I talked to him two weeks ago and they said OK we want to trust God one more time for $250 a month. But we are at the bottom of our list. We're gonna be scraping the barrel trying to find some names. They came up with 20 names of the husband's high school friends and sent out a letter. The wife was super skeptical about that. "I don't think anything's going to happen from this, it's going to all be No's" Well sure enough, I got an email from her two days ago and she said, "one of the folks on our last wave, an old friend of my husband's whom he hadn't talked to in years, let us know she wants to partner with this at $250 a month!”

My encouragement to you today is what's a short term fundraising goal that you can set?
