Qualifying Partners

When qualifying potential partners, you need to ask yourself a series of three questions: 1) How much time do you have to raise your funds? 2) How large is your funding goal? 3) What kind of capacity does your network have?

Each of these questions will help you to determine how much time you have to invest in building relationships, how much time you should allow for meeting with potential partners, and what the next best steps are to moving each person toward a definite decision.

The qualifying step can get a little complex, because it is not a one size fits all type of approach. You are going to need to think through each individual case and create a specific plan of action for each potential partner. This can be overwhelming to some, and would be a great reason to get connected to a fundraising coach to help you create a plan that works for you and each person in your network.
