Plan Well for Your Time of Fundraising
If you're approaching a season when you know you will be reaching out to donors and actively fundraising, you need to begin planning well before your window of actual arrival.
Communicating with people ahead of time to arrange meetings allows you to maximize the time you're focusing on connecting with people, instead of spending the first couple of weeks making calls, developing a plan, and then missing out on time actually meeting with people. Connecting with a coach 1-2 months in advance to help you make a plan can also make a huge difference!
WHEN PLANNING OUT A SEASON OF FUNDRAISING, IT'S ALSO IMPORTANT TO PLAN A SEASON OF REST.
Pushing hard on fundraising can be a great decision, but only if you have a complementary plan of rest. If you have an ongoing need for fundraising in order to get fully funded, then think about how often you need a break? Maybe that's pushing hard for 3 weeks, then taking a week off and cycling through. Or, if you're coming home for the summer, how many days of rest do you need each week to make sure you aren't overextending yourself?
If making that type of plan for your time of fundraising is overwhelming, just send us a note. We're happy to help you get a plan that works for you!
