Give a Gift to Donors Without Marketing Your Mission

Do you ever send thank you gifts to your donors? Or some kind of souvenir from the country where you're serving? This has gotten me thinking recently. So many ministries think of "gifts" for donors as a shirt or coffee mug with their ministry logo on it.

That is NOT a gift! That's a marketing tactic.

What can you do differently? How can you be thoughtful about giving gifts to donors? Think of your donors as close friends. Are they having a baby? Get them a monogrammed baby blanket or sleeper. Are they moving into a new house? Get them the best coffee maker money can buy. Think about them and their life situation, their hobbies, their passions. That's when gifts come from the heart.

And you can build real relationships through genuine gift giving.
