Make an Impact in a Support Meeting
A young girl, ready and willing to move herself and her entire life to an overwhelmingly Muslim dominant country. But what will happen when she begins to share her passion for this mission with others? Only the Lord could have seen this coming.
Tara is ready to commit the next few years of her life to living in a Muslim dominated country. She plans to serve the refugees there, giving her a huge opportunity to live and work among those already hurting, misplaced, distressed, and confused in this world.
She completed her practice with a Tailored Coach, and set up her list of people to contact. But she was apprehensive to set up her very first appointment to actually share her message. So, Tara ended up talking to a friend from work, thinking it could be an easy, safe place to begin.
AFTER TARA SHARED HER VISION AND HER FAITH MOTIVATION TO SHARE GOD'S LOVE WITH REFUGEE CHILDREN, THE CO-WORKER SAID, "YES I WANT TO GIVE TO THIS MINISTRY. AND OH, BY THE WAY, I'M MUSLIM."
Tara was shocked, elated, and psyched! As a twenty year old missionary raising funds in the States, she had just shared her desire to impact the world with someone intimately familiar with that particular culture. Wow!
She realized it was her passion for the mission and her powerful stories about the children and their needs that touched her co-worker's heart.
Beginning the process, she was afraid to share her message and invite someone to financial partnership. Through practice with coaches at Tailored, and specific feedback on the strength and weaknesses of her communication, Tara was able to begin her fundraising journey with a positive response from her first try.
Pray for Tara, as she now has an opportunity at work to continue to build a relationship with a Muslim co-worker and continue to share about her future teaching ministry overseas. *Tara is not the client's real name.
